The Arc of Greater Williamsburg

Over the past few years, our chapter has partnered locally with The Arc of Greater Williamsburg. The Arc is a nonprofit that supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to improve their quality of life. Every two weeks, members tutor and develop one-on-one relationships with clients from The Arc through the Literacy Program. Whether it be group readings, partner activities, or anything in between, we love The Arc!

Arc Carnival 
Each spring, every fraternity and sorority on W&M's campus partners with the Arc of Greater Williamsburg to throw a day-long carnival-style party for Arc's clients. With the help of an undergraduate buddy, each client can enjoy carnival games, carnival food (cotton candy, popcorn, hot dogs, and more), craft stations, and dancing. It's one of our favorite events of the year!

Panhellenic Activities
From attending speaker events and Leadership Development workshops to supporting other sororities' philanthropy fundraisers, Pi Phis do it all. Our Panhellenic Delegates keeps us in the loop with Panhellenic activities. We love representing sorority life in a positive light around campus and supporting each others' endeavors, all the while fulfilling an active position in conversations around policy changes and tradition maintenance. 

Student Organizations
Our members are involved in every type of student organization there is to offer. We have sisters on varsity and club sports teams, as well as Pi Phi (and other) intramural teams. We have members on the staff for the school newspaper, the fashion magazine, the radio station, and TEDxWilliam&Mary. We have members who tutor in the TutorZone and the Writing Center, and who earn credit as Teaching Assistants. We have members who help on the orientation staff, in the admissions office, and in undergraduate research. Others still are Health Outreach Peer Educators, global medical brigades volunteers, Branch Out trip participants and leaders, and Haven advocates (for victims of sexual assault, stalking, and other offenses). We have members who cross over many of these areas, and so much more (including on-campus jobs!). Our members take "extracurricular involvement" to the next level and make themselves known across campus as caring, committed students and friends.
